Wild Rose
-
Wild Rose, Jennifer Merschdorf’s debut novel, will forever alter your beliefs of what happens after someone dies.
The year is 2021 when Julia, alone and grieving, purchases an abandoned hotel named Wild Rose. After an unspeakable tragedy, Julia throws her soul into renovating the hotel and uncovers its mysterious secrets.
Over 175 years, three women perish within the luxurious Wild Rose hotel. Each finding their ghosts trapped within its walls by their own secrets. Through the decades they watch the living and witness their sins, never seen or heard. Until Julia steps through the doors.
As Julia brings light into the deserted hotel, she learns that she is the only person that can see the trapped spirits. For the first time a living person can see these three women born a century apart from each other, together.
Can Julia free these three tortured souls from eternal imprisonment? Time may tell.

“Wild Rose is a compelling and poignant novel. First time author Jennifer Merschdorf brings the reader into the psyche of the main character, Julia, a woman who loves fiercely and must now find meaning in life as she navigates the painful task of grieving. The reader quickly relates to all four female characters in their struggle, sadness, and disappointments, buttressed by the support, love and understanding of other women. This is a must-read novel that captures what strength and courage look like for women, no matter the time period.”

“Wild Rose is an engrossing read that aptly captures both the reality - and surreality - of death. As Jennifer Merschdorf moves through decades in time, she reminds the reader how, in supporting others amid their disappointments, we can find our own joy. Be sure to check out - and into - the ‘Wild Rose.’”
